We live at the bottom of the mountain and had passed this hotel for years, always wanting to see its old-fashioned style inside. We were pleasantly surprised by how grand and lovely it was. Just walking through brought to mind all the stories and memories the place must hold. Charlie playing piano in the lobby added something special. Our room was nice, the bed super comfy, and they'd started the heater so it was warm when we got in. The shower on the third floor took a while to get hot, but once it did, the water was sufficient. Grant was a skilled bartender and made us feel welcome. We also enjoyed the free buffet breakfast both mornings. We loved our stay.

Green Park Inn was the only place in the area able to fit all my out-of-town wedding guests at a reasonable price. It was so convenient for everyone to gather after the wedding and keep enjoying the night without worrying about flat-landers driving the dark mountain roads. We made a pact to come back for a five-year anniversary party. Please have her up and running by then, you've got three more years! I hope the reincarnation keeps the inn affordable.

Green Park Inn Hotel dates back to 1891 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Authors, poets, presidents, and first ladies have been drawn to its peaceful setting. It's a restored Victorian-era hotel in Blowing Rock, with classic elegance alongside modern comfort. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with classic character, contemporary amenities, and lovely views. Some have balconies. The staff are polite, respectful, and helpful, and make guests feel welcome. There are two dining options, The Chestnut Grille and The Divide Tavern, both serving elevated comfort food in an inviting setting. It's conveniently located for hiking, biking, walking trails, golf, skiing, Grandfather Mountain, and the Moses Cone estate. With its historic atmosphere and picturesque surroundings, Green Park Inn Hotel is a memorable option for a peaceful High Country getaway, whether you're planning a romantic trip or a family vacation.

It's so sad that the beautiful Green Park Inn is being torn down. You can't bring that history back. The new owner and Blowing Rock's approval have let such a piece of history be destroyed, and I can't believe it. What else will they tear down to put condos in its place? I've always enjoyed seeing the building when we went up the mountain, though I never got a chance to go inside and never will. Destroying mountain history for condos kills the whole vibe. Really, really sad.

I can't recommend this hotel. We had to change rooms three times because the heat wasn't working properly. The rooms felt poorly maintained and smelled unpleasant. The free breakfast was a letdown, with cold, inedible food and coffee I couldn't stomach. The stay fell short of what we expected.
