We picked this place for its convenient location near Appalachian Ski Mountain, and it suited our needs. We checked in late and left early, staying in an inn room with two double beds, a small closet, tall dresser, and desk. The room was dated but clean and adequate, with enough space for our short stay. There’s a small shared room with coffee, hot chocolate, tea, a microwave, and a small fridge for about 10 rooms. I’d brought my own drinks, but the room was quaint and clean. Check-in happens at a different location nearby, and the staff were friendly.

The inn has loads of rustic charm and is in a great location. The rooms are a little small, and even though the coffee, refrigerator, and microwave are in a shared room, I loved the homey feel. Juanita was the best part of our stay. She kept the rooms and inn spotless and stocked, and even went out of her way to get coffee and flavored cream just for me. She’s truly amazing and a keeper. I’d bring her to Florida with me if I could. KEEP HER❤️

The people at the front desk, a 3-5 minute walk away, were nice enough, though they didn’t offer much help. The property next door has gas fire pits you can use for free. For $230 a night, I was surprised by how poor the motel was. In the bathrooms, mold was coming through cracks in the paint, and there was no ventilation. Both units I stayed in had ceiling water stains that had been awkwardly spray-painted over, with one also showing overspray on the wall. One unit had stains on the wood siding, insulation was hanging near the fan, and the porches were in serious disrepair. Fresh shiny paint covered wood that looked plainly rotted. I’m surprised this motel has such a high rating. I’d try somewhere else.

The location was the best part, right around the main bend in downtown, and it was so quiet. We walked through the snow during the after-hours Christmas open house and it felt like being in a Hallmark movie! This tiny motel was cozy, with a lovely king bed, great water pressure, and really cool wood paneling. The room itself was small, but comfortable.

I was traveling alone as a woman, so I was scared to say anything when someone tried my door at 2:30 AM. They jiggled the knob and kept trying for about five minutes before realizing they had the wrong room. Apparently all the room keys are the same. Thankfully, I had triple-locked the door with the slider, deadbolt, and handle, so they couldn’t get in. The heat didn’t circulate well and the room was a bit chilly, though blankets would have made that manageable.
