Springfield House B&B

We stayed in the Springfield Suite for one night and found it spacious, clean, and comfortable. The jetted tub was a nice extra, and breakfast was fantastic. Their “stickies” were the best I’ve ever had, so make sure to try them. The owners were pleasant and shared a great history of Boalsburg. This is a quaint, quiet spot that’s conveniently away from State College and University Park. There’s a tavern across the street too, handy if you’re having trouble getting into restaurants around campus. Enjoy!

Our first stay at a B&B was a very good one, and we’d recommend this place when visiting Penn State. The location is quaint and very quiet at night. We had a comfortable king-sized bed, a full selection of cable channels, and blazing wifi, over 300 MBPS. The room was neat and clean, even though we arrived late, and Jack and Kristina accommodated us. Before the game, breakfast included scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, croissants, and coffee. We had no problems with payments, so I wouldn’t put much stock in the cancellation complaints in some other reviews. People should reset their expectations when staying at an owner-operated B&B rather than a chain hotel.

We came into town for a Penn State game and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The room matched its description, the location was perfect, and the owners were kind and accommodating. My husband and I will absolutely stay here again.

We had dinner at Duffy’s across the street, and there are several cute shops to visit nearby. The wraparound deck is gorgeous, covered in Penn State flags, and a lovely spot for coffee or cocktails while taking in that charming “Hallmark Story” street. Kristina and Jack welcomed us warmly to their beautiful Inn, and everything was so comfortable it felt like home. Breakfast was top notch, especially the awesome “stickies.” If you prefer big chain hotels, cold personnel, and dehydrated eggs at the morning buffet, this probably isn’t the place for you. 😆
