Days Inn Boardman

The room was dirty and poorly maintained. Its lamp was broken, and the hot tub didn’t work. Water went everywhere because the faucet barely reached the tub, whose sides were so damaged they were caving in.

The entrance and breakfast area look newly remodeled and quite nice, but that’s where the good impressions ended. The rooms are tiny. With a queen bed, there was maybe two feet around it, so there was hardly room to walk. The drains backed up when we showered or brushed our teeth, and the towels had stains. There weren’t any blankets on the beds. Breakfast was awful. They had a waffle maker, but no mix, leaving cereal, toast, or nothing as the choices. The night and early morning desk clerk was extremely rude, while the daytime staff were friendly. I definitely wouldn’t stay again or recommend it. Spend a few extra dollars at one of the nearby hotels.

The waffle mix tasted good, but breakfast overall was only a little better than minimal. There was no salt or pepper, and the eggs were nearly frozen, so I had to microwave them for a few minutes. The rooms have been updated recently. Just plan ahead for the limited breakfast.

One star is more than this place deserves. We checked in, saw the room, went back to the desk for a refund, and left.
