The room felt newly redone, with that fresh carpet smell, and the breakfast was good. There’s a nice gym and pool, too. I could hear people moving around in their rooms because the walls are really thin, though. Still, it’s a nice place in a good area.

The location is handy, with plenty to do nearby. My room was fine, and the shower was the highlight: roomy, clean, and more modern looking. Breakfast was pretty lacking.

Our hockey team’s check-in was a mess. We were told check-in was at 3, and families arrived between 2 and 3, but the first one didn’t get a room until 5. The last family waited until 7. They said they had just one cleaning lady, though you can’t know in advance how that’ll affect things. For a chain hotel, that was unacceptable. And we haven’t even gotten into the elevator situation.

The room was nice, one of the better Hampton Inn rooms I’ve had, and breakfast was okay, the usual Hampton good. The hotel entrance is a little odd. The pool was the real letdown: it’s advertised as heated, but was so cold the kids didn’t want to swim. We’re trying to find a place with a heated pool so we can stay about four times a month for the kids to swim, and this one won’t work. Either heat it or close it. Such a shame.

Stacy at the front desk treated our whole family like gold. The rest of the staff were great too, and we’re grateful for everything she did. She felt like part of the family by the end. Just so nice!
