Hampton Inn Boca Raton

We picked this hotel because my family was in Boca Raton for the art festival. The location is scenic, and a couple of staff members were kind: the taller woman at the desk was welcoming, and another woman was especially polite when we accidentally arrived an hour early. What prompted me to write, though, was the iguana in the back parking lot. I called around noon to report that it was badly hurt, and was told someone would be notified. At 2:30 it was still suffering, with blood pooling beneath its head. My mom went to the desk, where a man in blue and a shorter woman seemed unconcerned and snickered behind her. Whatever kind of day you’re having, laughing at an animal in pain is unacceptable. I later asked politely for a fresh towel and washcloth. The same man and woman were there, and she was rude while getting one from a room. The way the staff handled both the injured iguana and guests was deeply unprofessional. I don’t recommend this Hampton.

We’ve stayed here twice now, and the location is handy: there’s a mall with several restaurants across the street, Fresco is just behind the hotel, and I-95 is only minutes away. A big thank you to Sales Manager Arelis, Katrina, and the rest of the front desk team for making our mid-January visit so enjoyable. They took the time to suggest restaurants and things to do, and their ideas added much more to our stay than we would have found on our own, even at a pricier hotel.

We had a pleasant one-night stay last month before our flight from PBI the next morning. The room was much larger than I expected for a standard room, with two closets, a sofa bed, and its own seating area. We were on the second floor above the main entrance, but noise wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was included and nice to have. There’s also a small coffee shop just a short walk behind the hotel, and it was very good. We’d likely book here again when we’re in the area.

The rooms are big, quiet, and clean, with a fridge, microwave, and comfortable bed. For a three-star place, it’s top tier. The pool’s fountain is a nice touch, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and efficient. Breakfast includes gluten-free Cheerios and a waffle station for people who eat gluten. Many of us with celiac disease or gluten intolerance can’t tolerate oats, though, so Chex would be a better cereal option since all of it is gluten-free. And a housekeeping tip: I’d suggest $5 per night.
