Residence Inn Boca Raton

I prepaid $3,905.28 through Revolut for 19 days at Residence Inn Boca Raton, and I have written confirmation from the booking platform. On arrival, staff said I owed $1,770, which I paid after asking several times whether that was the correct amount. More than a week later, they said I owed another $1,200 or more, before taxes. I believe the hotel made the mistake, but they’re demanding money I don’t owe and threatening to put me and my children out despite the full prepayment. This has caused serious stress and financial strain during what should have been a straightforward stay. The hotel’s handling has felt disorganized, unprofessional, and hostile. Instead of accepting responsibility, they’re bullying guests and trying to charge twice. I’ll never return, and I’d urge others to avoid this property unless they want to deal with a mid-stay billing dispute and harassment.

I have nothing good to say about this hotel. The online photos make the rooms look fresh, but the buildings are old and show signs of many leaks. In our room, the ceiling had marks from old leaks from the second-floor units, the toilet sprayed water around the bathroom, and the refrigerator wobbled and stuck when opened. We asked to move because the first room smelled of mold and mildew. It took over an hour trying to reach the front desk before they found another room. We checked it before moving in; it smelled a bit better, as if recently cleaned, but was no better than the first.

I booked a points stay as a treat for my wife and daughter because the property looked nice online. That was the end of the appeal. Broken door locks meant they couldn’t get back into their room without the only employee on duty walking them there. The hotel knew about the issue, yet didn’t add staff. The flooring was so old and dirty that it smelled, and they had to wear flip-flops to keep their socks clean. There was no room cleaning for three days, and I’m not sure why. They also couldn’t get extra towels, and were told an Asian man had hoarded them. Management refused to refund the stay when I contacted them. I’ve been a Lifetime Marriot Titanium member, averaging 110 nights a year for 25 years, and this franchise should not be allowed to fly the Marriott flag. The place is beyond unacceptable. Do not stay here.

I needed an apartment for a week and liked being on the first floor. They were accommodating, and the place was clean, with a comfortable bed, fluffy towels, and good TV and Wi-Fi. The smell was off, though, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here, even if it did the job. I wanted to extend because I’d be in the area longer and didn’t want to move, but they’re going out of business, which didn’t surprise me. Maybe someone will fix it up. The coffee was decent, but the special machine takes only their premade plastic inserts, and nobody replaced the coffee every other day.
