Fairfield Inn & Suites Marriott San Antonio Boerne

We arrived late at the Fairfield Inn Boerne on the way to a volleyball tournament and had a small problem with our first room. Sydni at the desk switched us quickly and handled it professionally, with no attitude. She was still there early the next morning after her late shift, just as upbeat. When we mentioned a maintenance concern by the window, she apologized and said she'd arrange to have it fixed. Within an hour, the general manager called to apologize and make sure it was handled. That kind of follow-through and care is rare. Thanks to Sydni and the team for treating us so professionally.

We drove more than five hours for my niece's Baptism, only to find out the hotel had overbooked and canceled our Expedia reservation. The cancellation email arrived an hour before we got there, while we were on the road, so we didn't see it until we pulled in. The woman at the front desk was nice enough, and it wasn't her fault. Great service! Stay somewhere else, since they may cancel without much notice.

The staff were great, breakfast was wonderful, and the bed was comfortable. The room, though, was in rough shape and smelled odd, maybe from cleaning products. The wall by the closet was cracked, and the vinyl baseboard had fallen onto the floor. The price was way too high for that. Marriott should be ashamed to have its name on this.

There was hair on the shower walls when I arrived, and the shower faucet sprayed water outside the stall. While I was asleep, I felt something crawling on my arm and found a large beetle in the bed. I know bugs are more common in Texas, but that was disgusting. I've stayed at three other hotels in Texas and never had a bug that big in my bed.
