Kasa on the River Boise

This is a short-term apartment rental, not a hotel. I booked through Expedia after filtering for hotels and only learned what it was when Kasa texted me check-in instructions the day before arrival. There’s no desk, onsite staff, or check-in parking area, and everything is handled by text. The instructions were useful, but the assigned space was buried on page 8, and I missed it. There were no signs in the garage or at the entrance about assigned parking, so I parked in the wrong spot despite displaying the parking pass. I woke up to a huge violation sticker covering most of the driver’s side window. Building staff put it there, and I had to buy special equipment at AutoZone to get it off before I could safely drive. It cost me half a day of vacation, and Kasa customer service just scolded me for parking in the wrong space. Later, I got a text from a Moroccan phone number with a bogus link asking me to pay a fake Idaho parking ticket. Someone connected to the property or parking enforcement is scamming people. Stay away. There’s no onsite cleaning or assistance either.

The location is fantastic and the building has great amenities, but the apartment itself had a lot of problems. For five nights, the two of us got one set of towels each and just two laundry pods. The kitchen was poorly equipped: three coffee mugs, two wine glasses, three drinking glasses and four forks, with only two dishwasher pods. There wasn’t a dish towel or strainer, so I had to wash the dishes by hand. We also started with almost no toilet paper and no spare roll. The living room furniture was cheap and really uncomfortable, like it was picked to look good in photos rather than feel good for guests. Then they charged us $100 when I explained that the laminated parking garage barcode had slipped into the gap between the rental car’s dashboard and windshield and couldn’t be retrieved.

The apartment was spacious, spotless, and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. Parking was easy, and check-in went smoothly. It’s in a great location, and the high rating is well deserved. I’d gladly recommend it.

We came to Boise for a college football game and could walk to Albertsons Stadium from here. Great spot, and we had a great stay.
