Residence Inn by Marriott Boise West

The front desk staff were very nice, though they didn’t seem to understand this hotel’s policies. The stay itself was frustrating: the shower was warm rather than hot, the TV kept cutting in and out, there was no dish soap unless you bought some, and our room wasn’t refreshed even after we asked. We had to go downstairs for clean towels, and there was no hair dryer. They said our room was upgraded, but a queen bed didn’t feel like an upgrade. We’re Westin and Marriott Bonvoy members, and after this stay, I wish we’d never joined. Marriott hotels have felt very inconsistent to us, and the Marriott on Denton in Boise, Idaho was by far the worst.

The staff were kind and helpful, even with someone difficult like me. We got a great rate on a suite, and the room was clean. Breakfast had a modest range of basics, enough to build your own plate. I especially liked making a waffle and fixing it up the way I wanted. I’ll be back.

I nearly skipped booking after reading the bad reviews, but I’m glad I took the chance. It’s excellent value for what you get. My room was spotless and quiet, with a comfortable bed, kitchen, and separate bedroom. Nothing too fancy, just a pleasant place to rest and take care of yourself on a long road trip. Staff were lovely and went out of their way to get me a top-floor room away from the freeway. The grounds are nice, breakfast is decent, and they greet you with warm cookies. It’s near the mall and plenty of restaurants, and getting delivery made the stay even nicer. I stayed on the 4th floor away from the freeway and had a lovely view and wonderful quiet.

I’m sorry for what I said before. I was out of line, and we were wrong not to come through with payment. I hope you can forgive us and accept my apology. I loved the people, the service, the cookies, and swimming in the pool. I’ll miss staying here. I love everything about this hotel.
