There’s plenty of room in the bedrooms for three or four families. You can walk straight onto the beach from the house, so there’s no need to rent a golf cart. It’s an easy trip to the ferry for day trips into Galveston, then back to the laid-back area to relax.

Both of my recent stays here were a lot of fun, with great weather and plenty of time in the sun and sand. I’ve been to this house twice lately, but the septic issue still hasn’t been fixed, which was disappointing. The Wi-Fi only worked for us in the bunk room, and even there it kept dropping. The place could use some TLC. The fridge wasn’t cold enough, and there wasn’t enough cookware for the number of people the house accommodates.
Fall is my favorite time to visit, since it’s so peaceful then. The house is right on the beachfront, with plenty of room and it’s always clean. We enjoyed having coffee on the decks in the morning and watching dolphins. The owner is easy to work with. It’s a perfect getaway, especially for a girls’ trip, and I highly recommend it.
Two months after our stay, my kids and wife are still talking about the trip. We spent four days here with six adults and six children, and the house fit everyone comfortably. It was the kids’ and my first time at the beach and ocean. On our last morning, I married my fiancée on the beach at sunrise, and it was perfect. There are two decks with amazing views, and the house is raised on stilts with living areas on both levels. We made the upstairs and balcony an adults-only space, while the kids used the downstairs living area. We could see them from either balcony while they waded waist deep in the water in front of the house, so we didn’t have to worry. Most of our time was spent on the beach. The full kitchen and Charcoal BBQ Grill made meals easy. To save money, you can bring food or shop at the local store a few miles away, which has reasonable prices and everything you’ll need. There are also several good restaurants nearby. We came here for our family “Wedation,” and absolutely loved it.
The sand is soft. If you get stuck, look up BOLIVAR BEACH VEHICLE RESCUE on Facebook. It’s an open group, and they’ll happily pull you to safety for free. They do enjoy the attention, so take a few photos and show them some love.
