Lovers Key Resort Suite 2

We booked through VRBO for a quick getaway. Lovers Key is amazing, and this place is close enough to go wherever you want without a long drive, while still being away from the craziness of Fort Myers Beach. The room was perfect, and I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the shower had good pressure. The bathroom was a decent size with one sink. The units are basic, with a small oven, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator, dishwasher, and living room, plus TVs in the living room and bedroom. The location is central to Fort Meyers Beach and Bonita Beach. Parking is limited, and spots get taken up by Flippers restaurant. The pool is on the shaded side of the building, so it's not great.

Our AC never worked during the trip. It was 85 degrees the whole time, so the room was useless during the day. At the front desk, the staff were extremely rude and said there was nothing they could do because they were sold out. When I raised it again at checkout, they told me to email the GM. I did, and the GM said they would refund two nights. But when my booking agency contacted him, he lied and refused the refund. Brian the GM is awful at customer service, which explains why the hotel staff are too. This is hands down the worst hotel or condo I've stayed in. Do NOT stay here.

The lobby staff were great, but our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so we waited at Flippers until about 4:15. We came early because we'd heard parking could be difficult with the construction equipment and Flippers taking spaces. It was already packed, and got busier as the afternoon went on. We booked late and got room 102, which wasn't ideal for two nights. A barge carrying construction equipment blocked part of the bay view, and pool heaters sat right outside the bedroom window. The room was fair: cheap window coverings, noisy AC and heat, uncomfortable bed and couch, and very little kitchen counter space despite it being fully equipped. You have to drive to the trolley for FMB and the state park, and there's no sidewalk to make the walk feel safe, so it felt isolated. Construction on the highway bridge also made the driveway hard to access at times, especially coming from FMB. Would I stay again? Probably not. One night might have been better.
