Baymont by Wyndham Boone

The location was the reason we booked, but there's little else good I can say about our four-day stay. At check-in, they told me my toddlers couldn't sleep in our bed, which was a wild thing to impose. Where were they supposed to sleep, on the floor? Our room was otherwise fine, though the bathtub dripped the whole time. The keys stopped working almost immediately, so we kept having to get replacements. The pool was barely heated, with algae and spiders floating in it. One night staff member was asleep at the desk when we came for new key cards, then repeatedly rubbed them on her arm to get them working. It was bizarre and uncomfortable to watch, and unsanitary. This wasn't just an overnight fluke. We won't stay there again.

Our room was great, but the connecting room we had reserved for our friend for Thursday and Friday wasn't actually held. We had booked our room for June 1-16 and a second room for those two nights. Isn't a reservation meant to hold the room? They didn't even offer a discount for the inconvenience. I don't think I'd recommend this hotel if they don't know what a reservation means.

I travel for work and hotels can be hit or miss, but this Baymont pleasantly surprised me. I stayed in winter, when there were plenty of vacant rooms. The room was clean, and both the night and morning staff were friendly and courteous. Walmart was within walking distance, though it was dangerously cold while I was there.

The staff were especially friendly and knew the area well. They even offered to print tourist information for us. We had several rooms, and they were all clean and nice. We felt comfortable during our multi-night stay. The hotel is older, with peeling paint in one bathroom and a well-used comforter on one bed. The pool will probably need repairs soon, but it was perfectly fine to use.
