Quality Inn & Suites Boone - University Area

It’s been nearly two months since Quality said they’d look into my complaint, and nothing has been done or resolved. It seems easy to offer lip service to someone with a complaint and even easier to do nothing. I hope anyone thinking of staying at a Quality will reconsider and choose another property. I booked the last week of December because my grandsons wanted a hotel with an indoor pool, and the photos looked great. We drove four hours, only to find the pool was out of service and being repaired. Since that was our main reason for choosing this hotel, we tried to cancel, left, and stayed somewhere else with an indoor pool. We’ve since been told there’ll be no refund, even though the hotel description was misleading and deceptive.

Bree and the maintenance man were especially pleasant, and the staff were courteous and attentive. Our room was clean and well kept. We enjoyed our stay.

Mimi at the front desk was friendly, extremely helpful, and attentive, and she really stood out. My only other interaction with staff was disappointing: the employee didn’t respond, kept their headphones in, and made no eye contact. That felt unprofessional. The mountainside view was beautiful, one of the best parts of the stay. The suite didn’t live up to it. It felt dated, the carpet had visible tears, and there was just one trash can in the bathroom, none elsewhere in the room. For the price, the condition and amenities didn’t feel worthwhile. The TV kept scrambling as if a satellite dish was losing reception. The hotel offered to move us, but we were already settled and planned to be out exploring Boone, so we declined. Aside from Mimi’s excellent service and the view, the stay fell short. The room needs updates and more attention to detail, and customer service should be more consistent to justify the cost.

We paid $1,200 for a week, and it wasn’t worth it. The hotel is really outdated and needs a lot of repairs. An employee said the pool was closed after a guest apparently didn’t notice it was half empty, fell, and broke his feet. We arrived to find the room with two beds couldn’t even open, so they moved us to a king room. That was really inconvenient for two adults and two kids, who had to sleep on the pull-out sofa. The bathroom was disgusting when we got there, breakfast was always empty, and with one elevator down, only one was running for the whole hotel. The TV had maybe six working channels, and the rest showed no signal. Wi-Fi was so slow we had to use the hotel next door’s. We left three days early for another hotel. We spent $600 there, but it was well worth it compared with staying here. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially at that price.
