Comfort Inn Boonville

Breakfast was pretty nice, and for a single night the stay was okay. The place could use an upgrade, though some things, like the curtains, seem easy to fix. My room was also missing soap and tissues. I had brought my own soap, luckily.

The check-in was fine, and the staff were friendly, but the price made no sense for the room we got. It smelled damp and strongly of spoiled food. There were several stains on the sheets, the bathroom plumbing and light fixtures were falling apart, and the view from our window was of food scraps and an overflowing trash can in a messy back area. The towels were thin and barely clean, like they hadn't had enough hot water, bleach, or detergent. I know the place is close to, or already past, 40 years old, but that doesn't excuse any of this.

The bed and pillows were really comfortable, and the AC worked great. The shower was good too. What stood out most was how clean the room was. No bugs at all, and I always check. The place looks worn, with scuffed furniture and carpet I'd rather not look at, but if you're fine with dated looks and care about cleanliness, it works. I'd stay again.

The second room was older than the first, but at least the air worked without that awful furnace smell. There wasn't much space to move around the large furniture, and the bathroom was tiny. The beds were uncomfortable. At checkout, the pool felt more like a big bathtub: the water was cold, while the room was warm and muggy. The hot tub was dangerously hot and the jets didn't work. Breakfast was okay, but the serving area was cramped and there was little seating unless you like barstool tables. Our first room had several problems. The AC was off when we arrived and smelled like an old furnace once we turned it on. Several lights were burnt out, the door lock was loose, and the curtains weren't fully attached. When we asked to switch rooms, the staff member didn't apologize and just told us to get our bags out quickly. The property is small, and there were other broken or damaged things both inside and outside the room. Not a good stay, and we won't be back.
