Super 8 by Wyndham Boonville

We liked the staff, the location, and the price most, and we'd come back. We'd ask to look at the room before settling in, though. On arrival, we switched rooms because ours had a ladybug issue, and the staff were friendly and helpful about it. We didn't see other bugs in the replacement. The bathroom faucet worked but needs repair. Noise comes through from other rooms, especially footsteps overhead. Breakfast is light on protein, mostly carbs, so bring something or go next door to McDonald's. The location makes it an easy drive to columbia and costs much less than staying there. The property could use renovation, though that might raise prices.

The little problems on recent visits make me worry that this place is slipping. We'll give it another chance, but the rooms should be checked one by one for basics like nightstands, soap dispensers, and working TVs. Housekeeping should also make sure rooms smell fresh. One bad-smelling room can drive away people who've had good stays before. I've stayed at this Super 8 for years, including back when the east rooms downstairs had outside doors. It's not fancy, but it's often an inexpensive option after a late Mizzou sporting event. Two weeks ago, a first-floor room had no body wash or soap in the shower, no nightstand, and a strangely arranged table and fridge. This past weekend, our room smelled like wet dog. Housekeeping hadn't caught it, so we got spray from the front desk and opened the window on a chilly night. The TV turned on but showed only static, and none of the controls got cable working. It had been fine on the earlier visit. These may seem like little things, but they add up.

For the price, this had everything I wanted: a clean room, a comfortable bed, an updated bathroom, and a quiet heating and cooling unit. The parking lot was well lit, and I heard no highway noise.

The big soap bottles they provide were a nice touch. I've only seen that at one other hotel or motel, and it beats the little bathtub soap bottles. The room was mostly clean. The furniture and bed were clean too, though the bathroom was just okay and the roof and walls looked kind of dirty. The loose secondary door latch made me feel a bit unsafe.
