Best Western Bordentown Inn

The front desk staff were very nice and seemed willing to help, though they said their options were limited. The AC in our room wasn’t working because it wasn’t even plugged in. Luckily the night wasn’t hot, so we managed. They offered us two other rooms, but we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep, so we stayed put. There were only three pillows for two beds, and they couldn’t give us any more. The hot tub area was a letdown too. The water was cloudy and barely warm, so I kept my shoes on. I’ve stayed at other Best Western hotels as a member, and this one wasn’t among the better ones. We only stayed one night, and the room did the job. I won’t drag the place over it, but the hassle was a lot when we were tired. Good luck.

The staff were great, but we had a rough first stay at Best Western. There was a strong cigarette smell in the first room even though the building is supposed to be smoke-free, so we switched rooms. The smell was better there, but then we noticed how dirty it was. There were marks that looked like coffee on the walls, closet doors, and back of the bathroom door. The drain worked but was damaged, and the showerhead leaked and had limescale on it. I asked the next morning whether housekeeping could help, but they didn’t have anyone available, probably because it was Thanksgiving morning. My fiancée was so uncomfortable she wanted to sleep in the car.

The room was roomy and the bed was pretty comfortable, and the water in the jacuzzi got nice and hot. But the jets were weak and didn’t give much of a massage. I wouldn’t recommend this room if a good jacuzzi is what you’re after. The front desk staff were very friendly.

On Valentine’s Day 2026, my husband and I arrived at Best Western Bordentown Inn hoping for a romantic evening. Instead, there were sirens, police, and firefighters around the property. A trash fire on the second floor, about 3-4 doors from our room, sent black smoke into it. We breathed in the fumes, and our belongings were affected. What upset me most was that nobody from Best Western Bordentown Inn checked on us, explained what happened, or apologized. We reported it to Booking.com, and they were responsive. Best Western’s corporate office had a ticket number but went silent, leaving it to the property. Now the property says neither Booking.com nor we contacted them. That’s a blatant lie, and corporate is backing them instead of taking responsibility. We’re seeking compensation, but it feels like protecting their reputation matters more to Best Western than doing right by guests. They don’t seem to care about safety or satisfaction. I’m still furious about this disaster. Stay far away if you value your health and peace of mind. One star, and that’s generous.
