Embassy Suites Boston Logan Airport

My only complaint was the $75 charge to check in early at 8:30 AM, even though the room was available. As a Gold high honor member, I'd never had that happen before. The room and staff were good. On a busy Saturday night, waitress Josephine did the work of at least three people and kept her cool and pleasant the whole time.

The airport shuttle was excellent, but I wouldn’t recommend the rest of the stay. One phone didn’t work, and it took two days for someone to come replace it. The food wasn’t good, either at breakfast or during Happy Hour, which had very little beyond fruit and vegetables. Old, cold food sat out too long before anyone replaced it with fresh items. Prices at the café and Market were way out of line. A bottled Starbucks mocha that costs $2.29 at home was $6.00 here.

The service let my parents down during their stay. They’d booked the wrong day, but the date was still in the future, and the hotel refused to move the booking. Instead, they charged them again for the same room. Later, the TV remote had a dead battery, so my parents couldn’t control or turn off the TV. The front desk said someone would come up, but nobody did, and they had to unplug it for the rest of their stay. I’d had decent experiences here before, so I recommended the hotel. I don’t think the place is necessarily bad, but this visit was a mess.

The check-in went quickly and easily. My first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, so the hotel moved me. The replacement room’s heat turned out not to work, and the unit only blew cold air. I was already in bed when I realized how cold it was, otherwise I would have asked to switch rooms again. I also couldn’t call the front desk because the room phone handset didn’t work, so I just got through the rest of the night.
