The staff really stood out during our three nights at Eurostars The Boxer. Carlos and Patricia were welcoming, the breakfast lady, who I believe was named Lillian, was kind and attentive, and the cleaning staff were warm and friendly too. We appreciated all their kindness. Our room was lovely, clean, and very comfortable, and the hotel was well maintained. It’s about a 20-minute walk from downtown, which suited us, though it’s something to bear in mind if you want to be right in the centre. Breakfast was good but a bit limited for us as Europeans: we’re not very used to salty breakfasts, and there weren’t many sweet choices. A couple of small things could be better. The coffee in the room wasn’t restocked every day, and there’s a $20 per day facility fee plus taxes. We found that confusing since it isn’t a resort, and weren’t sure what the charge covered. A clearer explanation would help. Still, we had a very comfortable stay and would recommend the hotel for its cleanliness, comfort, and especially its staff.

If you want a comfortable base for exploring Boston at a reasonable price, Eurostars The Boxer is a solid option. It’s in the West End, near North Station for subway and commuter rail connections, and just a short walk from TD Garden and its food market, with plenty of places to eat and drink. The distinctive flatiron-style building has a relaxed, low-pressure feel, and the staff are friendly. I chose the junior suite, the largest room type, which has enough space, a separate sitting area, decent closet storage, and an OK-sized bathroom with a shower. The bed was comfortable. From other reviews, it sounds like some rooms may be on the small side. The décor and carpets are definitely tired and could use a refresh. There aren’t many amenities: breakfast in the morning, bikes out front if you like exploring on wheels, and only a small lobby, with no bar, real lounge, or café space. Don’t expect luxury touches. For the location and value, it works well.

I stayed three nights in January. The rooms have an interesting, contemporary design and are functional, though not luxurious. Heating, beds, and showers were good. I had no complaints about the service. Maybe this is nitpicking, but the location is exposed to winter cold and snow, even though it’s only a short walk from north Station.

The atmosphere was wonderful, and everyone was so kind and friendly. The front desk helped with things we didn’t know we’d need, like a sewing kit for a small clothing issue. We had no problems from start to finish, and the staff went above and beyond. We’d highly recommend the hotel to our friends.

Carlos at the front desk was awesome, really friendly, funny, and helpful with ideas for places to eat and things to see. It’s a great spot, just a five-minute walk to TD Garden and a little farther to the other places we wanted to visit. Our Boston trip was all too short, but we had a blast. It was slightly pricey, though everything in Boston is, and it had more personality than a run-of-the-mill hotel. We hope to come back and stay again!
