The room was clean overall, and most staff were friendly. Olivia was especially helpful, professional, and accommodating. I’m still waiting for a response about the charges, though, and that’s why I’m giving a low rating. We stayed from 2/19/2026 to 2/23/2026 and rented two rooms at $550.34 each. There was also a $300 charge per room in case of damage. On Saturday we learned about the weather and needed to leave early so we wouldn’t be caught in the snowstorm. Our train was cancelled too, so we had to rent a car. I asked to speak with the manager about the charges, and was told they’d be in at 9 a.m. Sunday. We waited, delaying our trip home ahead of the storm, but the manager never came in or called. On 2/23/2026 the hotel called asking if I had checked out, which left me confused. We had checked out on Sunday, returned the keys, and cleaned the room. I called the hotel about 20 minutes ago, and the front desk person was cold, unresponsive, and unconcerned. I’m still waiting.

The one thing going for this hotel is its easy connection to public transport. Given the price, though, I’d strongly advise against booking here. We spent a couple of nights and found major renovations underway at check-in. To reach our room, we shared an elevator and walked along a corridor covered in construction dust. The heat wasn’t working. Staff said the hotel was built in the 1960s, the heating system was currently non-functional, and it probably wouldn’t work during winter. We asked for a portable heater and were told they couldn’t provide one. The blanket in our room had someone else’s hair on it and was marked “Best Western,” which raised questions for me about cleanliness and where the linens came from. The room had been “refurbished,” but it looked like a tight-budget job: fresh paint, while the original shower cubicles, toilet doors, and old heating and AC controls remained. Maybe things will improve when construction finishes, but I doubt they’ll upgrade the heating. Customer service was nearly nonexistent. There was no management on site, and the receptionist couldn’t transfer us to another hotel with working heat. We were given the manager’s email, but he only replied more than a week after we’d checked out.

The Midtown Hotel saved our trip when an AirBNB rental fell through. They took us in at extremely short notice in the middle of the night. Ravi was incredibly helpful, probably the friendliest person I’ve ever met, and made our Boston trip so much better. The hotel is lucky to have him. It’s a good hotel with outstanding service, near several places to eat or get coffee and just around the corner from a Green Line Station, so getting around the city is easy. Renovations mentioned in older negative reviews were completed near the end of 2025, so those can be disregarded.

The location is right in the middle of everything, across from the beautiful science center, and our room had an amazing view. It was gorgeous and incredibly spacious, with a comfortable bed and a bathroom that felt clean and comfortable. They were generous with complimentary coffee and the other room amenities. The hotel honestly has everything you need for a city stay. Lucas and Angie made the stay so comfortable and memorable that we didn’t want to leave. The Midtown Hotel is hands down the best place to stay in Boston. I couldn’t recommend it more. Thank you!
