A-Lodge Boulder

Eight years in, my friends from Nebraska and I are still coming back. We’ve met wonderful people here, locals and travelers alike, and it feels like our home away from home. The cabin couch is incredibly comfortable, and the queen suite was super cute. There’s adventure right outside, from the babbling brook to the hot tub. We even saw a bear once, and two ravens followed us around looking for nuts.

The staff were really nice and helpful, and it was a good place for a quick night or weekend away. We liked having the hot tub to ourselves each time we used it. I hadn’t realized the sauna costs extra to reserve, though that’s understandable, and I wish the booking details had made it clearer. The pool was closed, which I also hadn’t seen mentioned. Since the listing said it was heated, I thought it might be open. The bed was SUPER firm and I didn’t sleep well, and there’s no ice on the property, which I’m not a fan of. Still, it was a nice place to unplug and get away for a night or so.

The rooms are simple, but they worked fine for sleeping between outings. I used the hot tub both days and also enjoyed a complimentary sauna session during communal hours. They were easy to reach and handled a scheduling mix-up on their end very nicely. It’s a great base for getting out and adventuring. I’m planning to return for more outdoor time in late spring.

It’s close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away to feel off the grid. We loved biking along the water into town, plus the rides, hikes, and people we met. The grounds are beautiful, our room was comfortable, and the staff were excellent. Morning coffee was great, and there was a good choice of local beers in the evening. Best place to stay in Boulder!
