The first room was supposed to be non-smoking, but smelled so strongly of smoke that my allergic mom couldn't stay in it for more than a few seconds. The desk clerk understood and moved us, but that room had just one bed for three of us. He tried to find another room, then the manager told him not to and said we needed to contact the booking company to change it. We ended up in a freshly cleaned room with a faint smoke smell, which went away after we used some renuzits and air freshener. Other problems remained: the outside door barely shut and needed a hard push to lock, the bathroom door didn't close or lock, the tub was a little gross, and the shower curtain bar moved so much I feared it would come out of the wall. The desk woman was unprofessional. This was the worst hotel experience I've had, and I'd give it less than one star if I could.

The front counter guy was very nice and helpful when we raised the room problems, and it looked like some of the building might be getting renovated. Still, the nasty areas should have been closed off. Our room was disgusting: a big hole in the closet ceiling, filthy floors, a moldy coffee pot, and a bathroom that seemed untouched for years. There was no furniture besides the beds. There's a reason it's cheap. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The only real problem was how hard the door was to close and lock. Otherwise, it made for a great overnight stay. The room had no window, but was a comfortable size, with very comfortable beds and plenty of pillows. The front desk clerk had lots of personality and was accommodating about our pets. The shower had excellent pressure and piping hot water, which was great with snow outside. There was a coffee maker in the room and a simple but good breakfast in the lobby.

The staff were great and arranged adjoining rooms when we asked. At $100 a night, though, the place needs a lot of work. The floor and beds in our room were new, but everything else looked untouched since the building went up. The bathroom was old and dirty, the walls looked close to crumbling, and the back door had no deadbolt.

I've stayed here a handful of times during my yearly visits to Bowling Green, but this was easily the worst. The room seemed fine at check-in, with remodeled wooden floors, though nothing else looked updated. The tub seemed to have a bathtub cover, the toilet felt scary to sit on, and the sink was barely hanging on. The sheets were unbearably itchy, and the paper-thin walls made it impossible to settle down. I left for a couple of hours Friday night and came back to loud, anxious neighbors next door. I could hear their whole conversation. I called the front desk at least three times, but the solution was for me to change rooms close to midnight. I wasn't the one causing the problem. The desk woman was completely unprofessional and treated me with disrespect because I used Wyndham points to pay. She lost me as a customer.
