Hospitality Inn - Buffalo Airport

The room feels almost like an apartment, with its square shape, beautiful oak floor, and pale avocado-colored walls and doors. I’m sensitive to noise, but the airplane sounds weren’t too bothersome, and the fan has a high setting. The door has no gaps around it, either. Best bed I’ve had since Covid, a new Tempur-Pedic. There’s also a high Kohler toilet in the large bathroom, and the shower control sits at just the right height, about halfway up. Out back, there’s a lovely patch of woods with a picnic bench.

The bed was comfortable, which was the one good thing. The room was noisy, the vanity mirror was filthy, and the door wouldn’t lock from inside. There were no cups for the complimentary morning coffee. It smelled like weed all night, drifting in from outside, and some of the other guests looked pretty sketchy. I wouldn’t stay here.

I’ve spent much of the summer living out of hotels for work, including some pretty rough places, but this one made those look like luxury suites. I only needed a room for one extra night after a schedule mix-up, and paid over $190 after tax. On checking in, I found bedbugs, cockroaches, stains from unknown substances on nearly everything, and a large crack in the seam of a door that already felt barely secure. I tried to accept it for one night, but after work I came back to rap music blaring, people yelling from the banisters, and people fighting in the parking lot while apparently under the influence of something. Then someone started banging on my window. I’d had enough, so I went to the office and politely explained what was happening and asked for a refund so I could leave. The woman working there refused. Losing the money was still worth it to move to another hotel, the first and only time I’ve ever done that.

After a long day traveling, I got the good night’s rest I needed here. It’s a simple, no-frills place, but nicer than I expected from a two-star hotel. The room was very clean, though a little musty, with a spacious bathroom and a great shower. The spotless king bed was extremely comfortable, and the updated in-wall AC kept things comfortable. There was also a fairly large flat-screen TV.
