Sun Dek Beach House

After our Airbnb turned into a nightmare, we were lucky to find the last room at Sundek. It was a cute little bungalow-style apartment, private, with housekeeping each day. The heated pool was nice, and there was a covered place to sit. The bathroom felt a little cramped, but otherwise it was a cute place to stay. We’d definitely come back.

The ocean was right across the street, and our room was beautiful, clean, and convenient. My husband, our two frenchies, and I stayed for two nights and had a great time. The staff were excellent. We loved it and look forward to coming back. It was the best place we’ve ever stayed!

We chose Sun Dek Beach House while in Boynton Beach for a nearby conference because, as a young couple, we wanted something more affordable and charming than the resorts down the street. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, the front desk staff were warm and attentive, and we appreciated being able to borrow beach chairs and umbrellas. The place generally felt trusting. That trust became troubling when my wife came back from a short beach visit while I was at the conference. She noticed her purse hanging from the cabinet handle, which could only have happened if someone had just handled it. She saw a housekeeper quickly and nervously put something into her leggings. Later, in private, she checked her purse and found a $100 bill missing. We knew it had been there the night before. When my wife gently asked about it, the housekeeper said she had only put away her vape. We contacted management right away, expecting a fair, concerned response. Instead, the manager dismissed it, saying staff were “too well compensated for a crime of this nature to be worth it” and that they “stand by their housemaids.” They didn’t take real steps to investigate or prevent another incident. That lack of care and accountability was what unsettled us most. If the issue had only been the money, we might have given the place two stars and moved on. But management’s refusal to address what happened or take even minimal responsibility for guest safety left us feeling unprotected. We packed up and left a night early, so we can only give one star.

We loved being right across from the beach, and the walks in January were beautiful. The pool was warm, and the service and communication were great. The TVs in the rooms need an update so they can stream.
