Sonesta Denver Downtown

The valet situation was the worst part of our stay. A hotel that essentially requires valet should have it available around the clock. We had a very early flight, but the front desk said nobody was available and handed me the keys to our rental. The directions to the car in the parking deck were wrong, so at 3 am I spent several minutes going up and down trying to find it. Whether valet is outsourced or not, that reflects poorly on the hotel. Our room also wouldn't cool down. Maintenance came to work on the air conditioning and helped a little, but even with it set to 66, the room was usually in the 70s in winter. Some employees were nice, especially the maintenance and housekeeping staff. For a Denver trip, I'd suggest staying somewhere else.

No free breakfast, and there weren't microwaves in the rooms. I requested a bathtub but didn't get one. After I came back inside from smoking outdoors, they said my room smelled like smoke, kept my deposit, and charged another $100. I never smoked in the room. For what it costs, you can find somewhere better.

Jonathan at the front desk was a huge help. I called at the last minute to arrange an amenity for my mom, and he got it sorted quickly with great customer service. Really appreciated that. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is great too.

There was a mix-up about the date on my third-party booking, but Theresa was amazing and got the refund sorted fast. I hope you get to work with her if you stay here. The room and location were OK as well. Fair hotels can be hard to find these days.
