Le Meridien Denver Downtown

I always enjoy the rooftop lounge, with its unbeatable views and a great place to wind down in the evening. On this visit I also had breakfast at Corinne, where the eggs benedict was perfectly done and one of the best I’ve had. I love the Illy espresso machines in the rooms, too. Le Méridien Denver is a highlight whenever I’m in Denver. The staff are consistently warm and attentive, and the rooms are spotless, modern, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches. It’s easy to get to restaurants, shops, and downtown attractions from here. Each time I stay, I’m reminded why it’s one of my favorite hotels. The service and spaces are top notch, and I highly recommend it.

The TV was a deal breaker. It had no reception much of the time during my three days there, and would go black for over 30 minutes. Maintenance just shrugged and said the hotel’s location meant there was no reception. I couldn’t count on watching a show or movie, and the last night was the Grammy Awards. I also asked for change for a $20 at the bar to pay the valet, then noticed I was $2 short once I got to the car. It felt like they’d tipped themselves. Valet is $65 a day plus tip, with no nearby self parking. The hotel was clean and centrally located by downtown and the convention center, though, and the meeting rooms and food were great for my medical conference. This is a Marriott Bonvoy hotel.

The lobby restaurant impressed me every time I ate there, four times in all, and its service was great. The hotel’s location and room furnishings were good, but the rest of my experience missed the mark. I booked a deluxe room with skyline views for December 13-16, 2025, after 52 nights at Marriott properties and about 25 at non-Marriott hotels this year. My view was a parking lot, with Rick’s gentlemen’s club just beyond it. I also found hairs in the restroom, sink, and shower, and used my lint roller to pick them up. I spoke to the front desk three times. One person was friendly and helpful; the other two were cold and rude. I went to the rooftop bar, 54thirty, four days in a row, and each day a different signature drink was unavailable. The property has potential, but the front desk and rooftop bar were unimpressive, and I don’t recommend staying here.

The rooftop bar was a highlight, with a lovely view and great cocktails. Mar and Summer deserve a special shout-out for making our stay so fab. We had a wonderful time overall, with a convenient location, a lovely lobby, nice amenities, and a superb restaurant downstairs.
