Everything else about the place was great, and without this front desk employee I would have given it five stars. We left early and went across the street because of how uncomfortable she made us feel. We got no refund and lost hundreds of dollars. When we checked out, another front desk employee asked if the tall gray-haired woman was why we were leaving. We said yes, and she didn’t seem surprised. The other women also appeared not to approve of the way she acted. I was in Bozeman in December for a family emergency, not a vacation. The first day was fine, but the second was a nightmare. I accidentally locked myself out of my adjoining room after trying to leave through the other room, and the door locked behind me. I apologized and said I felt terrible for the inconvenience. The tall woman with gray hair in a braid at the front desk scoffed and rolled her eyes. She was the rudest, most abrasive person I’ve dealt with at a hotel. She shamed me as if I were unintelligent and beneath her, refused eye contact, and spoke so meanly that she brought me to tears. I told her I kept my main door locked for a good reason, because of personal safety concerns. She scoffed and rolled her eyes again. I thought it was her job to help guests with problems, not shame them. She didn’t have a key for the adjoining door and acted like that was my fault, then barked that she’d have to call the general manager. As she walked away, I asked why she was treating my mom and me that way. She laughed and rolled her eyes again. The general manager was very nice. He went to get tools, but my mom opened the door with a credit card before he returned. We went to tell the desk employee we’d fixed it and didn’t need her anymore. She stayed rude and seemed to hope her coworkers would laugh along, but they didn’t. When I said she’d made me cry, she snapped that I had made myself cry and rolled her eyes once more. As my mom told her she should expect a review, she yelled, “YOU GO GIRLY!” in the same disrespectful tone. This is not how guests should be treated in hospitality. Shame on her. I hope people wait to stay here until she’s no longer employed.

The room was clean and had a nice hot tub in it, and the hot tub and pool were clean too. Breakfast was good and well stocked, and the location was close to everything. The Microtel was nice and the stay was decent overall. The evening shift front desk woman was rude during check-in, though. Aside from that conversation, it was a good stay.

Staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast had plenty of options with good coffee. The room was clean, though there was a strange mirror on the wall instead of paint. It was a fine stay overall. Shops and food weren’t far away, and the airport was about 15 minutes away. I’d stay here again.

A great affordable place, perfectly located. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities you’d find at more expensive places, and there was a nice continental breakfast.

I reserved a room with two queens, but after a lot of trouble checking in I was given a room with one bed. I showed Afina my reservation, but she said nothing could be done, rudely and unprofessionally. I felt like a very low priority after their mistake. I first asked if I could check in a little early and was greeted very rudely. I was told three different times when a room would be ready, and it still wasn’t. Then I tried again five minutes before check-in time, and manager Afina was rude to me too. The room was way overpriced and not what I’d reserved. I’ve never been treated so rudely as a customer. Don’t overpay or waste your time here, and don’t try to check in even one minute early. I’ll never stay at another Microtel.
