The shared spaces are really cool, the location is great, and the staff are friendly and easygoing. Towels and bedding were clean. But the rooms were very uncomfortable, and I’d never stay here again. They’re tiny, underground, have no windows, and the walls are thin. People were loud all night, including loud music and several people coughing hard. Someone came to the room at 2am and was very noisy. I got just one hour of sleep, left as soon as I could, and now I’m sick too. With no windows or ventilation, it feels like a bad place to get sick. You get what you pay for.

There was fun art everywhere, and the room had a cute, quaint, eclectic feel. The staff were really accommodating, and it stayed quiet despite how many people the host had there. If I travel with just my child again, we’d love to stay here. Such a fun adventure.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and there was plenty of shared space for relaxing or meeting other people. The staff were super friendly and welcoming too. The Lark is right in the middle of downtown Main Street, so everything is within walking distance. I can’t believe I found a bed at this price in Bozeman. Absolutely the best place to stay if you’re exploring town, highly recommend.

I left as early as I could the next morning. Check-in had felt bizarre: they photographed me and scanned my driver’s license, which seemed excessive. I’ve stayed in hostels in both Europe and the US, and this place felt sketchy. The strong body odor smell, odd and somewhat rude staff, and thin walls made it hard to rest. All night I could hear the toilet flushing, a guest masturbating through the wall, and a couple having loud sex. I got no sleep and only stayed because it was the middle of the night. There’s no parking at the building, so you have to carry your things several blocks to a paid garage that costs $10. The building and surrounding area felt unsafe, and it seemed like some long-term homeless people might be staying there. A private room with tax is $50, then parking adds $10, bringing it to about $60. For that, just get a hotel. I gave it five stars so the review wouldn’t be filtered out.

The rooms are a little small, but that works for me. The location is great, and the staff are nice. There are also some useful amenities, including washing machines, kitchens, and places to hang out.
