Island Time Inn (Hotel)

There was one bed space fewer than we had booked, so someone in our group ended up sleeping on the floor. Management sent an inflatable mattress at 3AM, but it deflated within an hour, leaving that person on the floor again. When I raised all the problems, they offered just $100 off the reservation, which didn't come close to making up for the trouble or health concerns. At Island Time Beach Hotel, managed by AMILocals, the room had a strong damp smell as soon as we arrived. It hadn't been ventilated properly, and there was visible black mold on the walls. The refrigerator didn't work either, so we couldn't store perishable food or have a cold drink. We reported the issues promptly, but the response was deeply disappointing. The lack of care and professionalism from Island Time Beach Hotel and AMILocals was appalling. Guest comfort and well-being didn't seem to matter. This stay was a nightmare, and the management company's indifference made it worse. I strongly urge people to look elsewhere for a clean, functional place to stay and spare themselves this kind of frustration.

The old, stained furniture, rusting outdoor pieces, and decaying steps to our suite were disappointing, but we might have put up with them. What cut our two-night stay short was a loud party next door from around midnight until about 3 AM. There was no management on site, so we couldn't make a complaint until the next day. The notices in the suite say the noise ordinance is strictly enforced, but that wasn't our experience. We called the office the next day to ask about another suite at a different property and got no response. The inn was described as "charming," but that seemed to mean old. It was clean, though clearly past its prime. Don't waste your money here. It was a terrible experience.

The only real positive was the location, one block from the beach. The inn itself is old and run down, with thin walls and old, stained furniture. Our unit had central air, but most of the others had old wall AC units. The people next door had a party at 1AM, and there was no management on site to enforce the noise ordinance. We contacted the management company to ask for one night's refund or to move to another property they manage. The manager was supposed to call us back, but we never heard from them. We paid $1000 for two nights, which is exorbitant given the condition. Any positive reviews you may have read had to be sponsored. This place is a pit.

At $634.00 a night, we couldn't accept those conditions. We left and refused to stay. Please stay away from The Island Time Inn, it was a nightmare. When we drove into the parking lot, it felt like a war zone. The restaurant's parking attendant told us the building had been closed for 3 years and said he could hardly call it a hotel. Only 3 units in the whole building were booked. We were very concerned about our safety and, more importantly, our health. There was nobody on the property, only a phone number to get a code. They wanted us to e-sign a disclosure and acceptance of the room's condition. We need a refund to our credit card.
