The rooms are small but stylish and newly remodeled, and we had a lovely stay. We were near the main road, but it stayed quiet in the evening and overnight. The outdoor lights remain on all night, so I’d bring an eye mask if you need a dark room. I’d stay here again.

The rooms looked recently updated and were beautifully done, except for the issue with my door. We booked two rooms, and I hadn’t realized they were across the street from each other. One had a lovely beach view, shades on the windows and door, and a large bathroom. Mine faced the street, with parking right up to the door. A huge truck once parked so close that I could barely get inside. My door had no shade; even with frosted glass, the outdoor lights were so bright at night it felt like daytime. I hadn’t brought a sleep mask, so I spent the first half of my first day trying to find one. See the photo! About a day or two into the stay, my TV stopped working. Liam from maintenance was very nice, but said he couldn’t fix it. The walls are extremely thin, too. I heard snoring from next door and other noises I’ll leave to your imagination, which I didn’t enjoy. Nicole at the front desk was lovely and did her best to help with my complaints. I got a little money back because of the broken TV and the lack of a door shade, and I appreciated that. On a day when Nicole wasn’t there, I asked another young woman at the desk where to get off the trolley to browse unusual shops. She gave me a blank stare and said people come here for the beaches, with nothing else to suggest. That was disappointing.

The room had been updated nicely, and the location is hard to beat. This was our first stay at tropical isle since it opened.

The pool area was a nice place to unwind after the beach, with comfortable chairs around it. Our room was very clean, and the king mattress suited me perfectly since I usually find hotel beds too soft. We also liked having beach chairs available from the hotel, just across the street from the beach. We spent six nights here for our baby moon. I was 27 weeks pregnant, and the location made getting around convenient. The staff were always willing to help, and the manager was kind and flexible when we ran into a few small problems. There’s a good BBQ sandwich restaurant about a five-minute walk away. It was an easy choice when we didn’t feel like leaving the beach or going farther for dinner. I’d been looking forward to this trip for a long time, and staying here made it feel special. We’ll definitely come back.

The balcony and outdoor area were the best part of our stay. Inside, though, we found rust on the shower bar and mold in the tub and on the bathroom floor. The unit had fresh paint, but there were splatters on the floor, and the bed was uncomfortable. The sofa and tables were worn, too. The pool was full of leaves, and landscaping work nearby woke us with machinery and workers. We couldn’t find check-in at first because you have to go across the street to another hotel. This place is beside a busy curved road where cars fly around the corner, so be careful. If you’re bringing a pet, the fee is $50 per pet per day, plus 12% tax. We’ve stayed on AMI many times, and there are much nicer places. Keep looking.
