Quality Inn Bradley - Bourbonnais

Diamond, who we met on an earlier stay, was great with us and helpful to people new to the hotel and area. The front desk worker we dealt with this time was the opposite, and wasn't considerate or accommodating. On our second night, my family and I got back late after visiting another relative. The front doors were locked, and a worker watched us from inside while we tried to explain that we had a room. Even though we'd paid, she wouldn't let us in at first. It took a lot of pleading and bargaining before we were finally admitted. We apologized for our tone, but she still treated us disrespectfully. We told her we'd had an emotionally difficult day visiting a close family member who is terminally ill. She replied that it had nothing to do with her and wasn't her problem. My sister ran outside crying after the worker's hostile, disrespectful remarks, and she had to use the side door instead.

The restaurant food was delicious, like always, and we really enjoyed the event too. Our room was spacious, though the furniture looked pretty worn. The person who checked us in was wearing purple satin pajamas, which felt unprofessional, especially on a busy weekend with a big event going on.

The omelette bar was the highlight. They had a skilled cook making omelettes to order, which was amazing for a place this basic. We don't normally stay at one-star hotels, but this night was free with points. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and it was fairly quiet. The staff were kind and had a great sense of humor.

We've stayed here lots of times, but the last two visits with my partner have been awful because of the front desk service. The girl had an attitude and wouldn't listen to my concerns. She was playing a game with the volume all the way up, talking on the phone, and sleeping. She smelled like weed, too. My partner and I both work long, stressful shifts and just want to relax, so we'll go to another hotel to avoid dealing with this.
