Stay Express Inn Hammond

There were five rooms available, but none would go through when I tried to book, so I called. The person on the phone said someone had just booked all of them and only a more expensive option remained for the same room. When I asked why the price was different, he yelled, said rude things, and hung up. He was so disrespectful.

We were 14 hours into a drive and needed sleep, but wouldn’t stay again. The owners were rude and showed no respect for guests. They got into check when I told them who I was. The location was good, with lots of food options, but the room was a crap show. We saw a roach by the microwave before bed and smashed it. In the morning there was another roach in our bag, so we shook everything out. The floor was torn, and although the bedspread was clean, it was so stiff and uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep all night. The shower was rusted, the bathroom light didn’t work except for the one over the sink, and the cold water handle kept spinning so we couldn’t turn the water off.

The room was filthy, with trash on the floor and around the sinks, and stained sheets. It was obvious nothing had been deeply cleaned, and the property felt far below standard. The front desk woman was very rude and needs to work on her customer service. I also saw women hanging around outside, walking back and forth. Don’t stay here. I’m sure you’ll get bitten by bed bugs.

We were there for three nights and two days, and it was a nice enough place, but it badly needs updating. The room furniture was really old, the shower wouldn’t stay on, there wasn’t a phone in the room, and the hair dryer didn’t work. Lol. The TV didn’t seem to have anything good to watch unless you paid for it, or you could just go without watching anything. It’s basically somewhere to sleep for the night, so don’t expect it to offer much. There wasn’t even breakfast. The room cleaners seemed very old, maybe the current owner’s parents, and they didn’t speak English. I think all they did was take the dirty towels and replace them with clean ones.
