The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, but the place is run down. At $69 a night, you get what you pay for. There was peeling paint and what looked like old water damage on the ceiling. In the bathroom, I saw black spots on the ceiling, black stuff in the tub, and a large crack in the sink. The floors were nasty too. The women at the desk were pleasant, but the breakfast attendant started packing things up before 9, so I had to hurry to get a plate and leave. They should consider putting a microwave in the rooms. The shared one is in a room they lock, so you can’t get to it later at night.

The two women at checkout were really nice, and getting out was easy. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: instead of wrapped pastries, there were sausage, eggs, biscuits, and gravy. I was full after those, and the biscuits and gravy were great. Check-in had gone smoothly too, and my room was clean. I heard some traffic, but it didn’t bother me. I was just passing through on the way to Florida and would stay here again if I’m in the area.

My wife and I are easygoing and travel alone, and this is the first hotel review we’ve ever written. We stayed three nights, and I wish we’d gone somewhere else. There’s no microwave in the rooms, the doors are rusty around the locks and could cut your hand, and the place felt sketchy and unsafe for women. The first night our room was by the street, so we couldn’t sleep. We tried to heat food with hot water, but the coffee maker didn’t work. The smoke detector was beeping too. Since we’d already moved once for that reason, we just put up with it. Around 2 AM the second night, someone banged on our door and woke us. We stayed quiet because we were scared, then put a chair against the door after they left. We told the front desk the next morning. When we spoke to the general manager about compensation for that night, she had a terrible attitude. She asked why we hadn’t called the desk, suggesting the clerk could have come up to stop it. She said they’d investigate, but was rude and argumentative about our other concerns instead of trying to help. The third night was bad too. The TV didn’t work, there was rust or mold in the refrigerator and coffee maker, and the door had no latch lock. We chose not to complain again. It seemed like staff talked about guests and took things personally. The location was loud by an intersection and the area felt dangerous. Breakfast was mediocre, with an attitude, undercooked meat, and overcooked eggs. The place is rundown and the staff were rude. It needs new management or to be shut down. Save yourself the money, time, headache, and danger.

The staff were excellent, and they tried to keep workers together at one end of the hotel, but we still didn’t get the peace and quiet we expected for what we paid. People staying for work kept walking in front of our door, and the room was noisy. An old car also took up a parking spot, while big trucks should be parked by the fence. Some parked so close my husband couldn’t get in. We’re both disabled and needed a downstairs room; they did give us one. The room should have been much cleaner. Dust was on a lamp, the shower head needed cleaning, and the room was still dirty after they cleaned it. The soap holder looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a month. The hotel needs updating, especially the bathroom, and parking should be assigned to rooms. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for sleep.

The room seemed about what I expected from a two-star place and wasn’t bad at first. Then I noticed how humid it was and checked around. Mold was everywhere I looked, under the desk and in and around the dressers, basically wherever there was wood. I also found a cockroach on the drapes the first night. You’d think the owner and manager would have some standards, even at a two-star hotel.
