We checked in and left our things, then found out a few hours later that someone had entered our room, touched and moved our belongings, and put them in another room without asking. The front desk attendant said something like, “Don't be mad, but we gave your other room to someone else and moved your stuff.” That was unacceptable and handled badly. If there had been any real sense of management, I would have escalated it in time.

The owner's response dodged my questions and didn't hold the staff member accountable for being rude. It also made no sense. They said I was unaware of their “Do Not Rent List” and that calling the police department should have been my first step because my act of kindness could have endangered everyone at the hotel. But if such a list exists, the front desk attendant should have told me when I called to reserve and explained my situation. Renting me a room given the guest's situation wasn't my problem. And just because I didn't mention in my initial complaint that the police department had been called doesn't mean they weren't. They were, in fact, called. The response also couldn't manage a complete sentence.

There was a strange smell in the hallway, and we never saw a housekeeping cart. The rooms are horrible. We found old food in the fridge, an earring on the nightstand, and trash behind the chain and under the nightstand. Need toilet paper, a washcloth, or more than one towel? Go ask at the front desk and hope they have it. We got lucky with toilet paper. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE.

The room was dirty, with hair in and on the toilet, dirt on the bedspreads, and an unvacuumed floor. When we told staff we wouldn't stay and wanted our money back, she was willing to help. But the charge stayed on our card through multiple calls. They first denied reimbursing us, then someone else tried to say it wasn't our card. We're disputing it through our bank now. DO NOT STAY HERE!!
