Arbor Inn Weymouth

When a scheduling mix-up left me needing somewhere to stay for the rest of my trip and everything nearby was full, The Arbor Inn motor Lodge of North Weymouth went out of its way to get me sorted. Sid and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind. The room was clean and nice, and nobody bothered us. It’s a family-run inn that’s been in Boston a long time, so the motel is a little dated, but we still really enjoyed our stay. The location was great, too.

We only picked this place because it was near my cousin’s funeral home and cemetery. The photos make it look a lot better than it is. With it 90 degrees outside, the room smelled of cigarettes, it was dirty, and the AC barely worked. The lobby was about the size of a bathroom, and there were around ten family members squeezed in while I tried to check in. I was also charged when I booked, even though it said “you won't be charged now.” If I’d known what the place looked and smelled like, I would’ve canceled and stayed somewhere else. This was the smelliest, dumpiest place we’ve ever stayed, and I’m fuming. A refund would be nice. How are you going to make this right?

Getting around seems like it could be a problem without a car. I didn’t see a bus or train nearby, so you’d need to drive or order a ride through an app. The room was comfortable and the beds were clean, though the place looks old and the rooms are a bit small. We had a smoking room, and the hallway smelled so strong we could smell it from inside. The water was warm and nice. It’s a safe place to stay, but it’s not fancy or particularly well kept.

The rooms were clean and easy to get to, and McDonald's is within walking distance. Nantasket Beach is only about 13 minutes away. It’s a motel-style inn with a helpful front desk and quick check-in. The vending machines are cheap, too. I’d have given it five stars if it cost less.
