Motel 6 Boston South - Braintree

The staff were great and incredibly attentive, but we had a few problems. One family member slid off a mattress because it moved on the bed frame. WiFi cost $5 per device each day, which felt excessive, especially since it kept disconnecting. Leaving the parking lot was awkward because the only exit sent you toward the roundabout. The rooms need updating, and we had to move because of ants.

The room itself was clean and really nice, and the concierge was very pleasant when we arrived late. Unfortunately, guests in other rooms were smoking pot outside. The smell was strong enough to drift into our room. Motel 6 was great, but those other guests were extremely disrespectful.

Most of the staff were kind and helpful, but the motel itself was a real disappointment. The online photos didn’t match what we found: dirty rooms, uneven floors, a tiny bathroom, and no shampoo. The AC smelled like a dead mouse, and they’d waxed right over a cockroach in my room. I was there for a bachelor party and only needed a bed for the night, but $120 for a queen room felt completely not worth it. They also take section 8, so some people were living there. I wasn’t pleased at all.

The staff were really friendly, and it was easy to walk to the subway. For a 2 stars hotel, I wasn’t expecting much. Still, my first-floor room felt damp all day because it was raining, and it smelled a little. There was no shampoo or conditioner, the AC didn’t work, and the blanket had a stain. I also found trash on the floor, so the cleaning could’ve been better.
