I was new to the area for a job just across the road, didn’t know anyone, and couldn’t stay in my car because it was too hot. This place was something, but I’m still traumatized by it. It smelled so strongly of crack that I had a headache for two weeks. There were bugs, filth, thin walls where you could hear everything, and a shower so nasty I wore my crocs to get in. The sheets and towels seemed clean, at least. A roach crawled up the wall while I was trying to sleep. I spread a bath towel over the sheet and slept with it under me, hoping it wouldn’t fall on me. There were dead roaches in the mini fridge, so I didn’t use it. Management gave me bug spray, but told me to use it sparingly. Please don’t stay here. If you can, stay in your car.

The listing on Expedia said the cottage had a double bed and a double sofa bed. When I called, the woman told me, “it will have a queen size bed and a sofa in the room.” What I found was a double bed, no sofa, and a filthy metal folding chair instead. The sheets already had yellow stains before I got into bed, and there was black mold on the mattress. Rain leaked through the bathroom ceiling. People were coming and going loudly all night from one of the two rooms next to mine. I left covered in bites that I hadn’t had before staying there. It was nasty and nothing like what I’d been told. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Black mold, bugs, stains, and a disgusting bathroom. I asked for my money back because of the condition, after being there maybe an hour, but the guy wouldn’t refund me. I took pictures to show the owner and had to call the police. The guy was a skumbag scammer. This is a flea bag motel, stay away.

We stayed for 10 months while looking for a new home. It was a quiet location with a friendly community, well kept landscaping, and a manager who kept a close eye on things, so we felt safe. Thanks Dave! The manager was cool, and Cookie at the desk was especially kind. Pets were allowed for a premium additional fee, and our deposit was returned in a reasonable amount of time. If you paid rent on time and treated the place respectfully, no one bothered you. The bungalow was cool, but tiny, outdated inside, and a little overpriced at $1600 a month. My wife and I spent two hours scrubbing it before we left and still got hit with a $75 cleaning fee. The owner felt greedy. A week after moving in, I got itchy bumps and pimples on my wrists and feet. The doctor was stumped, and I still have scars. Bed bugs were ruled out, though I never found out what caused it. Would I stay again? Only in the same bungalow. I wouldn’t choose one of the small rooms unless I was staying alone.

My husband and I planned to stay one night, but just three hours after booking, I felt an itch while watching TV in bed. I pulled up the blanket and saw a bed bug crawling on my leg. It bit me three times. At the front desk, the man insisted there were no bed bugs in the room, even after I showed him the bites. He told me to call the owner, who didn’t answer. We slept in the car and were woken by staff saying they hadn’t seen any bed bugs. They refused a refund because we’d “used” the room, since we’d showered before finding the bug. So I paid 69.50$ to shower, watch TV for three hours, get bitten, and sleep in the car. The next day I went to a laundromat to heat the things we’d had in the room so I wouldn’t bring bugs home. I understand bed bugs are small and hard to spot, and hotels see lots of travelers. I’d have been more understanding if they’d seemed to care. But I’d shown fresh bites, seen the bug, and was sleeping in my car to avoid more bites, and they still wouldn’t refund me. Frack this place. Spend your money with more honest people. I’d give it -1 stars if I could.
