The people working there were great, and I noticed several signs that they pay attention to details. Brandon was an interesting place to spend time, even though some key restaurants and the town historical museum were closed during my visit. I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone wanting to spend time in Vermont instead of just passing through. The inn is an old, historic building with treasures tucked into every corner, so exploring it feels a bit like visiting a museum. My room stayed warm and comfortable in the very cold middle of winter, although the rest of the building was cool. Breakfast was fresh and nicely laid out, and the breakfast area had a lot of character. I'm not much for continental breakfasts, but this was unlike anything at Motel 87. There’s also a breakfast diner three or four doors down the street.

After a car accident left my family and me stranded in Brandon, we spent two nights at The Brandon Inn. The staff treated us with an incredible amount of kindness and understanding during a stressful time. The rooms were clean and roomy, with comfortable beds and great TVs. I also loved how cute the place looked, with its lovely holiday decorations.

Todd was wonderful behind the bar and happy to answer all our questions. The rooms had lots of space and excellent amenities, and breakfast was a highlight, especially the pastries. This was one of the most charming, welcoming inns on our two-week drive through the New England countryside. I'd recommend stopping here if you're in Vermont. Be ready for a paranormal experience, as our friends had one. Five stars, hands down.

I liked the big-screen TV, the shower head, and having a heat pump in the room. I was only there overnight, though, and had to leave at 3:30 a.m. The mattress was awful, like the springs had sprung, and I didn't sleep at all. By 1 a.m. I gave up and ran a bath. The tub was deep, but its straight 90-degree walls made it uncomfortable to lean back and relax. Sitting there, I was thinking about a morning drive to Boston on no sleep, then another trip back up toward the Bethel, Maine area, over seven hours in all. The paint and caulking around the tub and bathroom corners also looked like they’d been done by someone with no experience. I was told the property has relatively new owners and updates are underway. It's a nice place, but a lot needs work before I'd stay again.

A lovely surprise was finding no scented air freshener or hidden fragranced products in the room. I really appreciated that, along with the kind atmosphere among the guests. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was large and delightful, and breakfast was delicious. The scones deserve 10 stars!
