After a 12-hour drive from Orlando, seeing this place was a relief. It’s close to JAN and major restaurants, and under $300 for three nights is hard to find these days without a special non-cancellable rate. I wanted somewhere inexpensive with a major brand behind it, and this property delivered on the room and service quality. I’d had two mediocre stays at a Courtyard and Residence Inn just before this. It’s a midscale property, comparable to a Comfort Inn for the price. The night manager was extremely helpful and apologetic about the elevator. Hilton’s app let me choose a first-floor room, and I hadn’t even known there was an elevator problem.

The water pressure was poor, and we had no real hot water. I tried the tap at night and again in the morning, but it was lukewarm at best. Apart from that, it was a great stay and we got more than we paid for. The rooms were very clean, though the tub looked stained and dirty. The front desk woman working around 7:00 last night was the sweetest.

The bed was fine, the bedding was soft, the towels were clean and stain-free, and the housekeeping staff were nice and kept the room as clean as they could. But this was still a negative stay, made worse by the extra money we felt was taken from us. The Hilton website listed a $50 pet fee. At check-in, they said it had changed to $75 every three days. I pointed out the price in their own app, but the woman at the desk said we could pay $75 or leave. We planned to discuss it with a manager at checkout, but went through the customer service line instead, which helped somewhat. The managers were deceptive, and no one took responsibility. Who knows what else they might do to sneak money out of you? The place may be cheap, but you might end up paying more than expected. The Spark looks updated in the photos, but it seems to be a cheap renovation of an older hotel. There’s little furniture, just one wobbly chair, though there is a microwave and fridge, both with unpleasant odors. The sink wouldn’t drain, and a rust stain had been painted over on the tub, but the paint was flaking down to the floor. The elevator was shaky, with holes in the floor and a loose button panel held by only three of its eight screws. The floors and stairwells squeak, and the walls are paper thin, so it’s noisy. Room cards stop working well before checkout. When we went to load the car, we needed a front desk person to escort us back up. Staff know about this but aren’t fixing it. Clean bed and towels aside, I’d avoid these managers.

The night clerk and her grandsons were polite, friendly, and helpful. I stayed on February 15, 2026. The room, though, had clearly been marked ready without being cleaned. The beds were unmade and disassembled, and clean sheets and pillows were on the floor. The elevators weren’t working. In the bathroom, there was hair, water spots, stickiness, dirt on a used soap bar, marks on the toilet seat, and a dirty floor. I cleaned the sink and toilet myself. The pillowcase was stained, and the pillows had been on the floor. Towels were missing or used. It was late, so I took the room and planned to ask for service the next day. On February 16, 2026, around 4:00 pm, the afternoon manager brushed me off when I explained what had happened. She was curt and didn’t want to hear it. She said I’d have to wait until the following day and that service had to be requested. But they gave me an unserviced room in the first place. Shouldn’t the room be clean when you arrive? At this Spark hotel, you apparently have to specially ask for cleaning before arrival, or sleep in a dirty room for two days or clean it yourself. The housekeeping is practically nonexistent. I’ve had cleaner rooms and better service at no-name motels. It’s a bad look for Hilton, and they should be ashamed. This should be a one- or two-star hotel.

Breakfast had plenty of carb choices and yogurt, and the kids were happy with it. The staff were super nice, and the place was clean, a ten out of ten. Our room phone and TV didn’t work, but we arrived late and didn’t need either. The doors slam loudly, though it wasn’t enough to put us off, especially for what we paid. We’d definitely stay again.
