Best Western Music Capital Inn

The location was good, but we won’t be recommending this hotel after our four-night stay. Housekeeping came once, after the first night, and even then didn’t make the beds or replace all the towels. After that, the room was never cleaned, so we took out our own trash. The bins near the doors and elevators were usually full too. I complained at the front desk on day 3 and was told the room would be cleaned, but it never was. When I brought it up again, the staff member wasn’t very apologetic. We’d picked this BW because we’d had good stays at other locations. The arcade change machine was broken and one game didn’t work. Our room also wasn’t quiet as described, and we often heard a dog barking on the first night. Though it was supposed to be non-smoking, there was a strong Marijuana smell in the elevator several times. We complained about that too.

The breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and polite. For a two-star motel in this price range, I wouldn’t put anyone off staying here. The room and bathroom were clean, though they looked worn, with some odd repair work: nice countertops resting on 2x4s and questionable drywall patches. The bathroom was tight, and at 5'10" I found the shower head, about 5 ft 4" inches above the tub bottom, frustratingly low. There was plenty of hot water and good pressure, though the low drop ceiling had no ventilation. The pool is large and nice, if a little over chlorinated, and the hot tub seemed low on water. I wasn’t expecting the Taj mahal, and I understand upgrades are planned. If those don’t mean much higher prices, this could be a very nice place.

We spent Labor Day weekend here with family and all enjoyed it. Breakfast was tasty, better than I expected, though it wasn’t amazing. The rooms were clean and roomy, and everything worked without any problems. Staff were friendly, parking was plentiful, and both check-in and checkout were fast and easy. The location was great and the price felt fair. I’d recommend it.

The rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. I especially liked the yogurt and oatmeal with nuts, chocolate, raisins, and lots of other toppings. They also had biscuits and gravy, waffles, and more.
