Green Gables Inn

We'd stayed at Green Gables for years, but the quality has clearly dropped a lot under what seems to be new ownership. In one room, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, and the adjoining room's bathroom was dirty too; its TV also didn't work. A long black hair was hanging off the tub faucet, and the toilet there wouldn't flush properly. After we told the front desk, housekeeping came to clean the bathroom, but left the hair in place. The front desk employee argued and made excuses instead of helping. Our stay was December 12-14, 2025. We'll find another hotel next year and won't return to Green Gables.

The location was really convenient, tucked away from the main streets with little traffic and easy access in and out. The hot water was amazing, easily the best part, though the tub was that stained yellow color that makes you wonder if it's clean. Breakfast was very good during the two mornings I was there, with three hot options plus other choices. Check-in went smoothly. The parking lot was awkward, small and one-way with angled spaces, so you have to turn around in a gravel area before heading back out. My room smelled, I disliked the carpet right away, and the fridge kept thumping. The toilet had no lid, which didn't feel sanitary, and the showerhead was small. There also wasn't a card to ask housekeeping to stay out. I thought they might not come in while someone was there, but that wasn't true. I confused this hotel with the budget-friendly inn I usually stay at, so this is a comparison to that place.

The staff were great and really helpful, and the hot breakfast was nice. I stayed four days in a clean room with a little mini fridge, microwave, and about forty TV channels. Definitely coming back.

We had to wait an extra hour before we could check in, but the rooms were tidy and very clean, with plenty of what we needed. Great location, and the service came with a smile. We'll be back.
