The carpet needs a serious cleaning. I like going barefoot, but it felt sticky, and my feet were almost black afterward. The only time I’d taken off my shoes was in the motel room. The bed had shifted, leaving a sharp metal part of the frame sticking out in the middle. I didn’t see it and scraped my ankle on it. Ouch. When we got home, all our clothes smelled like the room, so I did laundry right away. Breakfast also wasn’t as good as it used to be. We’ve stayed here several times and it was okay before, but this visit was poor. I doubt we’ll come back.

The Hall of Fame was a decent enough hotel. I appreciated the mini fridge and microwave, and the staff were friendly. The free breakfast was tasty. The bed was average, and the helicopter tours next door can get very noisy. We also paid more than usual because we booked online.

Our Memorial Day weekend booking at another place turned into a disaster, so we called here. Even after a fire earlier that week, they still had rooms available. The two women who checked us in were very nice, and the room was clean. It was affordable too, not an arm and a leg. All in all, a great experience and I’d recommend it.

We paid just $87 for two nights, which is hard to beat. In Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas, I haven’t found a motel under $100 for two nights. It was close to everything downtown, with a restaurant and museums within walking distance. The rooms were big and very clean, and the staff were friendly. Train noise nearby was my main complaint. Also, there were no signs visible from the road, so we nearly drove past the motel.

Cockroaches were the main reason this two-night stay was awful. I reached for my toothbrush in the bathroom bag and one ran out; they were also crawling under the sink and around the bathroom. The room was on the lower level in the pet section, with moldy coffee left in the pot and chips and food crumbs under the beds. The hotel refunded one night and said they’d deal with the roaches right away. I hope they do, but I won’t stay there again.
