Hunter's Friend Resort

This is a cramped older motel on a tiny lot, not what I'd call a resort, and there are no lake views. The smoking area is much too close to the rooms and reeks. The water was awful: my bath looked nearly muddy, and after it drained, rust-colored dirt lined the tub. There was also an odor, and the hot water ran out quickly. The room itself was very clean. Our room wasn't ready, so they upgraded us to a two-bedroom unit, which was nice. There were plenty of towels and the beds were comfortable.

We didn't reserve ahead, just came looking for a room for the night. Mike set us up with a great room and switched on the AC so we could go find dinner. There was a selection of movies to borrow, which was a nice touch. He also gave us helpful information about things we wanted to do, and we'd absolutely return. The room was very clean, with comfortable beds, great pillows that didn't flatten into nothing, nice towels, and plenty of hot water. Thanks for a great night.

I've stayed at plenty of luxury hotels costing $500 a night, and none came close to how clean this room was. The bed was incredibly comfortable, too. The location was great, and the owner was very kind and clear in their communication. I'm definitely coming back.

We booked a last-minute trip for the 4th weekend and managed to get into Hunters Friend. The staff were all very polite, and our downstairs room had a kitchenette. It was clean, and as someone who cleans houses, I noticed the fixtures were wiped down and dust-free. The room is a little dated, but that didn't bother me. The water is well water and has a smell, though it wasn't a big deal and it made my hair soft. For the price and location, I'd stay again if we're back in Branson.
