Willow Tree Inn

The room was tidy, and the office staff have been professional and honest. The pool and sitting area are small and intimate, but lovely, clean, and well cared for. They provide grills and charcoal, and it’s clear the owners take pride in the outdoor space. It’s a beautiful place to spend an evening. I’d give five stars, except my refrigerator wasn’t cold at all, so I had to keep my drinks in a cooler.

The shower water was barely lukewarm, and the air conditioner was so loud it sounded like a 747 taking off and landing. At check in, I told the woman we’d pay cash. She asked for a credit card for incidentals, then charged it without asking. We thought we were paying at checkout.

After my final update, the manager turned out to be a cool guy and got me the refund I deserved. This place has potential. Before that, though, the stay was horrible. The first room was hot, and the AC only ran on low, so it wouldn’t cool the room. They barely got us moved to another room, which didn’t seem as nice. The paint job was lousy, the light switches were goofy, both tiny towels had hair on them, the lampshade looked burned, and there was a dead, dried up stink bug under the AC. The second night was no better. The AC ran for four minutes, then stopped and left us with nasty hot, muggy air for about half an hour. The front office had a nice new AC keeping it ice cold, but the rooms were fully booked, so I couldn’t ask for another one. After walking around Branson all day, moving our stuff across the lot and up four stories to a hot, gross, less updated room without the couch we had before was the last thing I wanted. In response to their reply, I was put in hotel rooms with a bit of paint and cheap new floors, charging way more than they should. I asked for the refund at checkout, but Booking still showed it hadn’t come through. Then the staff said I was lying about the bugs and the broken AC. Ridiculous. Save yourself the trouble and book at bransons best.

The kids really liked the breakfast, and we felt very safe. We enjoyed our stay, and the room was nice.
