The staff were professional, welcoming, and truly amazing throughout my stay. Their hospitality and the smooth, quick, friendly check-in were the highlights. The rooms were clean, and the location is top tier, especially so close to Château Élan. With investment in updates, this hidden jewel could easily become one of the best options in the area. The property itself needs some TLC. One elevator was out, and the one that worked made concerning noises. The bathroom lighting was dim, wallpaper and paint were peeling in places, the carpet needs replacing, and the room phone looked unclean. Breakfast was included but disappointing. I also saw small black flying bugs, possibly from the surrounding trees or maybe a water issue in the building. I don't want this to sound overly negative because the staff worked hard and gave excellent hospitality. The owners or chain should seriously consider renovating. I took videos and pictures to document some of these concerns.
We had reservation trouble on arrival at country inn & suites in Braselton GA. The hotel couldn't find our first booking, so we ended up with two reservations. I managed to cancel one through Booking.com. Before that, we were told we couldn't bring my service dog, which is illegal. She is NOT an ESA service dog. I had to bring her for service reasons, and once there I was able to fill out a form. After our first night, we found a lot of bugs in the room, mostly in the bathroom, but throughout the hotel too. They were different kinds of roach-looking bugs and everywhere. The bathtub looked like it had never been cleaned, dirty inside and out, and there were so many disgusting things in the room. The living area TV was cracked. The sink was clogged when we arrived, though they did fix it. The smoke detector kept beeping the whole stay even though they said they'd put in a new battery. The large closet doors were off track and hard to use, and there were stains on the ceilings in both the living area and bedroom. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. Outside, there were a lot of cigarette butts by the front doors and overflowing trash cans. I don't know if they were short staffed or just didn't think to check. This was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in, and most of the staff weren't very pleasant. The only pleasant one was the long-haired woman who checked us out, but I didn't get her name. I have photos and videos of the bugs and stains. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
A decent place with a decent breakfast, plus HBO and Cinemax. The indoor pool looked nice, but when I finally had a chance to use it, my room key wouldn't open the door. They remade the key card and it still failed. Another guest had the same issue. The hotel was being remodeled, so it was a little dusty at times.
We enjoyed the breakfast. That was the best part of our three-day stay. I was hesitant to book because the ratings were under four stars, but the location suited our needs, so I stayed optimistic and ignored the Google ratings. I can see why they are what they are now. We had booked three rooms and arrived about 30 minutes before check-in. Only one was ready, which was understandable since we were early. We hauled our luggage to it, but it was still DIRTY. The concierge on duty showed no issue with airing out the cleaning staff's mistake, yelling their name in the lobby and calling out the problems. It was unprofessional and embarrassing, and I felt bad for them. They reassigned us to a clean room, but it was almost 3:30 and the others still weren't close to ready. My aunt, who lives nearby, expressed her displeasure, and they offered an upgrade on one room, which we declined. When it became clear we'd wait at least another hour to get the other rooms, we left for plans nearby. We told the front desk we'd be back later. He said the second room was ready, but it wasn't on the same floor as promised, then made a snarky remark that my aunt's displeasure was why they'd changed the rooms hastily. I was shocked he spoke that way about us expressing dissatisfaction. I work in customer service, and fighting fire with fire doesn't work. We finally got into our rooms later that night and thought that was the end of it. But the next day, one room was left ajar after we went out, presumably by housekeeping. Thankfully, nothing seemed missing or out of place, but it was alarming.
The staff were great, friendly, and accommodating, and the common areas were very clean. Breakfast was good. The indoor pool was small but really nice for young kids, who also loved the central staircase in the lobby. The highway-facing rooms were unbearably loud all night. I've never had that issue at another hotel, but the way this one sits meant the road noise kept us awake. The linens were gross: the pullout sofa blanket had at least 25 small holes, and the first hand towel I grabbed and several other towels and washcloths had brown stains. The pullout bed was so uncomfortable my 12-year-old refused to sleep on it, remade it as a couch, and slept on the couch instead. I'd stay again if I had to, but it wasn't great and definitely wasn't what I expected for $200 a night. At a better price, ask for a room away from the highway and maybe bring your own blanket.
