Hyland Inn Brea

This is a quaint, single-story place with a fairly large courtyard used for parking and entry. There’s no pool or outdoor amenities, which worked well for us since our trips are usually short and we don’t use facilities that would make spa-style extras worth the cost. Prices can be a little high for what you get, though depending on when you book they can still be affordable. Our clean, well-kept room felt cared for. Nothing was broken and everything worked, and the bathroom mirror had a nice built-in dimmable vanity light. We didn’t stay long, so we didn’t really need service, but we didn’t get a warm welcome either. My main complaint was too few towels for the number of people on the booking, and the service wasn’t clear enough to help us sort that out. In my opinion, that alone doesn’t merit taking off a star. It’s a short drive to Brea Mall, with plenty of food choices nearby. Disneyland isn’t especially close, but I’d still consider staying here for a Disneyland trip because it’s a bit off the main route, affordable, and equipped for a decent-sized family. It could also work well for people visiting loved ones at local hospitals. The room access and accommodations make it a comfortable option when you need to stay nearby. I gave it five stars because it seems underrated, and our stay was better than we expected. I’ll definitely return.
