Twin Elk Lodge

The homelike atmosphere was enjoyable, and this old lady did get better at managing the stairs during our stay last week. There was everything we needed, but the place was right beside the road and the traffic noise was intrusive. Getting to the living area meant climbing two flights; if you were upstairs and needed the bathroom, that became four flights down and back. The walls were thin enough that we could hear people in the next apartment even when they weren't especially loud. The ads should make clear this isn't a good place for people with disabilities. We were also given the wrong wifi password. They said they'd put in a service order, but no one came to help.

If convenience is all you need, this unit is close to the gondola, downtown, and the grocery store. But this is unit A1, and it is anything but. Given a choice, I wouldn't have stayed. The carpet is filthy and worn, the bathroom smells of urine, and the decor looks like Goodwill. Pipes moan about every five minutes. The bedroom TVs are only a little bigger than an iPad, and the balcony “view” is of a busy road.

The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. There’s covered garage parking, and the location is great, just a couple of blocks from main street.
