The Dixie Motel Brenham

Karl took time to show me around and was extremely accommodating. Our room was spotless, quiet, and comfortable. We enjoyed the delicious coffee and appreciated the healthy breakfast at this unique motel.

I stopped by The Dixie Motel today and was amazed at how much the new owners have improved it. It feels fresh and alive. A great improvement for Brenham, TX.

The location was super convenient, about a minute from downtown and its restaurants, and around 15-25 minutes from the Round Top area. Parking was great and the staff were great. The owners were hospitable, easy to reach, and had thought of everything. We had a great Round Top weekend here. This renovated 1950s hotel has just 8 rooms and a lot of charm. Each room had a record player with assorted records, a comfortable bed, quality linens, good shades to block the morning sun, plus a hair dryer and steamer in the closet. There was a pour over coffee setup and milk in the mini fridge. The quiet setting means you might want to bring a sound machine if you need noise to sleep. Breakfast each morning included yogurt, pastries, fresh fruit, and a fancy coffee maker, plus fresh oranges and a juicer. The kitchen room fridge had drinks and beers from a local brewery. A water bottle refill machine by the rooms was very handy, and the handbook with local restaurant information helped us out.

The Dixie Motel is a cool retro spot, tucked a couple blocks off the road so there wasn’t traffic noise. Our recently renovated room was spotless. The in-room pour over coffee setup made a really good cup, and the record player came with Texas legends. I’d recommend it for a Brenham stay and hope to return soon.
