Knights Inn Bridgeport Frankenmuth

For what I paid through Priceline, this worked out exactly as I needed, and I’d stay again. It’s clean and comfortable, with a great bed and a shower that had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water. Check-in was quick, and the front desk staff were delightful. The location right off the expressway is convenient. It’s definitely not a five-star hotel, and some furniture could use replacing. I also could’ve used more outlets.

The best thing was the location: restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores were close by, and it was easy to get to the highway. The parking lot stayed well lit, and I saw cameras at the front, though not along the sides or back. There was trash behind the buildings, and I kept pulling bits out of my dog’s mouth when she went outside. I also saw bugs on one building, which turned out to be box elder bugs. I stayed there over the weekend with my fiancé and our dog. It was a good value, and the pet fee was lower than at some nearby hotels, but I wouldn’t return. Our room was freezing when we arrived. I had to ask twice for another blanket, and the man at the office gave me advice about the heater, but it still took hours to warm up. The blankets were very thin, almost like moving blankets. The bathroom was small and dingy, and the room needed a thorough scrub. My socks got brown even though we kept our shoes on. There was a brown streak low on the wall and a pubic hair on the back of the toilet, which we only noticed as we were leaving Sunday. That was disgusting. I appreciated having no carpet because we had a pet, but the bed was the most uncomfortable either of us had ever slept on, and we both woke up sore. We also found the lamps and fridge unplugged the next day. We’d put dinner leftovers in the fridge before bed without noticing, and by then the food had spoiled. The value and pet fee were about all I liked.

My kids loved the soft bed, and we had a calm, peaceful night. The room was clean and warm for the price, and the shower had great pressure and temperature. The front desk person was really sweet and helpful. The only small issue was that the shower drained slowly, and the tile floor can be slippery. I’m paranoid about bugs, so I checked every corner, and there weren’t any. The location is very convenient.

We’ve stayed here three times and will come back when we visit family in Frankenmuth. It’s a good price for a simple overnight stop, just what we’re after. The rooms are clean and well kept, and the bed and bathroom are good.
