Towneplace Suites Bridgeport Clarksburg

When my luggage was delayed at the airport for 24 hours, the staff noticed how difficult that was and gave me basics like a toothbrush and deodorant without me having to ask. Their attentiveness made the hotel feel more like staying with friends than at a big property. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and I'd happily come back when I'm in the area.

The room itself was nice, and the location was convenient, near I-79, a pharmacy, restaurants, and shopping. But the beds were awful, worn and sagging in the middle, with squeaking springs. When I told the front desk associate how uncomfortable they were and said they didn't feel like a “Marriott bed,” she repeated that they were standard Marriott beds. I suggested they check the beds in my room and got only a blank stare. Service was a 3 for me. Breakfast was available, but there was no employee interaction beyond that and my check-in. Check-in was fine, just dull, with no smile or friendly greeting. A little concern about the beds and some friendliness would have made a difference. The hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were below average, and there was no lotion. In winter, lotion would be nice for dry skin. If your skin is sensitive or you care about your hair, bring your own products.

We held a small conference here, and the staff did what they could to make us comfortable. On a meeting morning, they even rearranged the tables and chairs in the conference room on short notice. Shawna Karlen at the front desk was especially helpful. A wonderful little hotel.

The room was spacious, very clean, and had comfortable beds. The hotel was great apart from the front desk clerk and breakfast. We had to keep ringing the desk bell before anyone came, and the woman who showed up wasn't very friendly. Breakfast wasn't good and had little to choose from, though maybe it just hadn't been restocked.
